Terms of Use · Cardsheet

Short version: Cardsheet is free to use on every PDF, Pro is optional, what you make is yours, and every purchase is handled by Apple.

Your licence

WANG WENJIE grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Cardsheet on Apple devices you own or control, under Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the standard EULA). These terms add to that agreement. The app itself — its code, artwork and text — stays ours; please don’t copy, resell or reverse-engineer it.

Your PDFs and your cards

You keep every right you have in the PDFs you import and in the cards, answers and notes you make from them. We claim no rights over them and never receive a copy. Import only material you are allowed to use, and use the cards for your own study. Because there is no server copy, losing this iPad or deleting the app means losing what was on it unless you had turned on encrypted iCloud backup or exported it yourself.

Generated cards can be wrong

Cards, questions and grades are produced automatically from your PDF. They can be incomplete or wrong, especially on scanned pages and slides. Every card links back to the page it came from — check it against the source, and correct any grade with one tap. Cardsheet is a study tool; it is not a substitute for your course materials and does not guarantee any exam result.

Free, and what Pro adds

Cardsheet is free to download, has no ads, and on every PDF the first 10 cards and 5 quiz questions, handwritten grading, spaced review of free cards, seals and stats are free. Pro is optional and adds unlimited cards and questions, unlimited Pencil circle-to-cards, Exam Mode, all card types and subject packs, the semester poster and printable seal cards, encrypted iCloud Drive backup, and export. Nothing you already have is taken away to sell it back. Some card types need an iPad that supports on-device Apple models; Pro shows only the card types your iPad can use.

The three ways to buy Pro

  • Weekly (com.topxup.cardsheet.pro.weekly) — an auto-renewing subscription, charged every week.
  • Yearly (com.topxup.cardsheet.pro.yearly) — an auto-renewing subscription, charged every year. It may start with a 3-day free trial if your Apple Account is eligible.
  • Lifetime (com.topxup.cardsheet.pro.lifetime) — a one-time purchase. It is not a subscription. It never renews and is never charged again.

The purchase screen and the App Store show the exact price in your own currency before you confirm.

How the subscriptions renew

Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. A subscription renews automatically for another period of the same length unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the current period ends; your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions). Only Apple can cancel a subscription; we cannot do it for you. Pro stays on until the end of the period you already paid for.

If you start the yearly plan with a free trial, you are charged when the trial ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription. If a subscription price changes, Apple tells you first and, where required, asks for your consent.

Lifetime

Lifetime is a single non-consumable purchase. It does not appear among your subscriptions, never renews, and there is nothing to cancel. It unlocks Pro on every iPad signed in to the same Apple Account, for as long as Cardsheet is offered on the App Store.

Refunds

Every purchase goes through Apple, so every refund does too. We cannot issue refunds and never see your payment details. Request one from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com or through Apple Support.

Restoring a purchase

On a new iPad, or after reinstalling, sign in with the same Apple Account and tap Restore purchases on the purchase screen. That restores Pro, not your decks; those come back only from your own encrypted iCloud backup.

Fair use

Don’t use Cardsheet to break the law, to infringe anyone’s rights, or to harm anyone, and don’t try to get around the parts of it that make it work.

No warranty

Cardsheet is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. To the extent the law allows, WANG WENJIE is not liable for lost data, for mistakes in generated cards or grades, or for any indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits rights you have under the consumer law where you live.

Changes

These terms may change as the app changes. The current version always ships inside the app (Settings → Terms of Use) and is published on the Cardsheet website.
